July Currents

Reading: Heather Gudenkauf's books. A bunch of us went to see her speak at a local cafe. Heather
works in our school district and is an amazing writer. I have so many great books on my wish list.
Watching: The Real Housewives of ... Whichever one.  Love them all.
Wearing: Shorts and tees. Trying to add a dress and romper every once in awhile.
Eating: Salads, pizza and snacking a lot.
Drinking: Spark and flavored waters.
Loving: Quiet time around the house and completing our bucket list.
Wishing: For a day on the beach with the family.
Wanting: A vacation with just Chris and I. (Maybe spring break)
Needing: A pedicure.  Chris got one for me and I haven't found the time to go yet.
Thinking: about the up and coming school year. New teaching partners.  Very excited!

Max Dillon

I can't believe my little baby is 2. He has definitely given us a run for our money, always on the move.  Even as a baby he was very busy.  Always wanting to be held to make sure he wasn't missing anything.  But my favorite thing about him is when he wants to cuddle.  He can be so cuddly and lovey, it makes me never want to let him go.  Then it was like over night my baby turned into a little toddler.  Now he is busy, busy, and busy.  Although he will still stop and give you love.

Now a days he loves to climb, run, and jump.  A typical boy.  He enjoys playing with his trucks and loves to be on his Dad's fishing boat playing with his tools and equipment.  The park is another favorite of his, especially the slide.  He doesn't seem to have a fear of trying new adventures.  I don't know if that is good or bad.  But his most favorite thing is his lamby. (A lamb blanket that will probably go to college with him).

As far as his daily routine he loves being with his sister Lexi.  They are tight as it gets.  Which I love. They watch Youtube, ride in the play Jeep, play house, go on the swings and cuddle up together.  Of course until they start to irritate each other.

Max has also been a good sleeper.  He likes his schedule and falls asleep pretty easily.  We usually read books, rock in the chair and sing nursery rhymes and then he is ready for sleep.  Now a good eater is another story.  He used to eat everything in sight.  We even talked to the doctor about how much he would consume at just 1 years old. Now though he just wants fruit and yogurt.  Not that those are bad but as least have a variety of other good foods.  Lexi is going through the same thing so maybe it's just a faze.  We will see.

(Thanks to my great friend Jessica Halkowski for taking our family pictures)

I would have to say that my most favorite thing about him, besides being so darn cute, is his love.  He loves giving hugs and kisses, cuddling up with you and smiling.  He hates to see people upset or crying and always checks on them.  Even when he doesn't always make good choices, he will be very quick to say he is sorry.  And boy does he have good manners.  Always saying thank you and my favorite bless you in his cute little voice.  I have to say having a little boy is everything I thought it would be and more. Something about a little boy and his Mommy.

Summer Bucket List

What is the best thing about Summer? No work. Lots of play.  Last year I started a tradition to make a bucket list of things we can do in the Summer when we have all this extra time.  (Plus I love making lists and checking them off). I wanted to include simple things that don't cost money to big trips. Some of the ideas are family orientated and some are kid oriented.  Lexi loved coming up with fun ideas we can do and just like me she likes checking them off.

A Summer Bucket List would also not be complete with out documenting it along the way.  I take a picture of everything we do and then last year I compiled all our pictures into a book from Shutterfly

Some favorites from this Summer include: Disney!

Fishing with Daddy

 Craft Days with Mommy

 Pool Day

 Movie: Finding Dory

Camping with my family

Park Days

We have about a month left of Summer to complete a few more ideas.  I love having this bucket list to help break up the daily routines of Summer and it also gets the kids excited to try new things. If not they get too restless.  Here's to half of the list to still complete.  Where has the Summer gone.

P.S. I might need to make an adult bucket list too.

About Me

Welcome to our blog. I'm Dawn and I love to document everything! I am wife to Chris and we have 3 kids my step daughter Lauren and our two little ones Lexi and Max.

Our story starts in 2007 and includes a tarot card reader, best friends and a destination wedding (later on). When I met Chris he had a daughter who lived with him full-time and a dog.  I had a bunch of cats.  Together we bought a house, got married and had 2 kids. We are both teachers and enjoy our Summers off.  Lauren is now in college and getting ready to leave for school in Kentucky. Lexi will start Preschool this year and Max is 2 and keeping us busy.

I started a blog a couple years ago and didn't really keep up with it and never knew what to write. After I started scrapbooking I found out that I really wanted to document everything about our lives from the routine days to the big moments in our life.  I wanted to start blogging again so that I can have a space to keep all the memories together in one spot. So here I go.....
